Career Exploration, Education + Mentorship That Prepares You for the Workforce!
The Teen Construction + Art internship program is an 8-month paid work experience that helps teens, ages 16-18, with a desire to step into a leadership role within in the fields of construction, interior design, interior decorating, and/or public art. You will develop marketable industry skills preparing you for a leadership position.
Our earn-while-you-learn model assure you get paid while you are preparing to enter the workforce. You will receive a $1,500 stipend with monthly payments.
As a student intern you will gain hands-on experience by learning directly from experienced industry professionals and receive personalized career mentorship tailored to your goals.
Throughout the program, you’ll explore current industry trends, learn about professional and business requirements, build meaningful connections, and develop the skills needed to confidently market yourself as a future leader in construction and design.
Through the Construction + Public Art Internship you will:
Identify the topic or skill set you want to teach others
Choose, confirm and clarify your ideal audience for the educational initiative
Apply praIdentify and understand your audience’s educational desires and goalsctical knowledge and skills to address real-world challenges in business settings.
Create an efficient framework that will help your students build upon their knowledge

Various skilled professions involved in building and maintaining structures—carpenters, electricians, plumbers, welders, masons, etc.
INTERIOR DESIGNer
Helps make residential and commercial spaces be more functional for users.
INTERIOR DECORATOR
Enhances the aesthetic of residential and commercial spaces with unique colors, furniture and other decorative items.
PUBLIc ARTIST
Designs and installs art in public spaces. (i.e. muralists)
GRAPHIC DESIGNer
Creates visual content to express a message and brand.
ILLUSTRATOR
Creates digital or free hand sketches for advertisements, characters, etc

Through the industry project, I’ve been able to develop my operational skills because I was responsible for my team’s productivity as well as facilitating healthy, work-related conversations that prompted success. Being on active construction I learned some of the challenges the company in charge faced. Application Process
Complete and submit your application
Participate in an in person or virtual interview
Receive notice if you have or have not been accepted as a student intern
If you are selected, you will begin the 4th Wednesday in October
This internship also works to dismantle barriers that often restrict access to leadership roles in the construction, public art, interior design and decorating industries—especially for women and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)—by providing aspiring teen creatives with the knowledge, mentorship, and networks they need to turn their passion into purpose and create a lasting impact in their communities.
