Coach Carmen holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology from Sage College of Albany and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University at Albany. After earning her first degree, she took a management position at Living Resources, a service provider and group home for adults with developmental disabilities. After earning her degree, she joined Living Resources as a manager, supporting adults with developmental disabilities. During graduate school, she researched home health models and foster youth, serving as a Research Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer of Northeast Parent and Child Society, where she explored adapting healthcare models to benefit vulnerable young people’s physical and mental health.

Coach Carmen served as a Research Assistant for Foster Youth in Action on “A Multistate Evaluation of Positive Youth Development,” helping foster youth learn to advocate for themselves, connect with their legislators, and share their personal stories. The project showed that skilled and trained youth developed a stronger sense of identity, community, and confidence to influence political change.

Drawing on her experiences and solid scientific evidence, Coach Carmen began designing a mentoring program aligned with the Positive Youth Development framework. After six years of offering coaching and mentorship to young professionals and entrepreneurs eager to start or advance their careers across various industries, Coach Carmen and her team in 2017 decided to focus on becoming subject matter
experts in fashion, construction, mural painting, interior design/decorating, and social enterprise development.

Under her leadership, Mission Accomplished unapologetically pushes past convention, passionately dismantling barriers alongside rising young professionals.
